A few friends on Twitter have posted photos of their new 'Fridgezoo' pets. These toys (or are they gadgets?) take the form of milk cartons and sit in the fridge. A light sensor on top alerts them to when the fridge door is open, prompting them to greet you friendlily. But keep the door open for too long and then they'll start to tell you off.
Designed in Japan, they've only just started to be imported into the UK and America by distributors, and it seems they still speak Japanese only.
But it's a cute idea, and probably ideal for those with kids old enough to open the refrigerator door. Whether it'll encourage them to leave the door open for less or more time though remains to be tested.
