Flags for Earth's Biggest Islands

As a further exploration into design fictions (designing for the World as you’d like it to be, rather than how it is), I’ve put together a set of flags for ten proud nations.

These nations comprise the 10 largest islands on Earth (not counting Antarctica and Australia), yet only two of them are currently independent – the rest would require unification or separation.

Inspired by Graham Bartram’s Antarctica flag, these flags employ the simple design of the geography of the islands on a solid fully-saturated colour background.

Devoid of any other design elements – crosses, emblems, stars and stripes – they are an expression of neutrality and permanence.
