A Leisurely Walk Home
Was getting the train home on Sunday, but because of engineering works the train terminated at Highbury and Islington. I got off, expecting to be able to jump on a replacement bus service, but instead found myself amid a jubilant Arsenal crowd, who were lining the roads, which had been closed off, in anticipation of their Premiership-winning team sailing past in their parade bus later that day.
Luckily, it was an absolutely beautiful afternoon, so I decided to walk the rest of the way home instead, following the rail replacement bus signs. The Arsenal fans were everywhere, but everything was pretty friendly. Even the police were allowing the kids to go and stroke their horses.
The delightful walk home took in the sights of Finsbury and Dalston. I was pleased to walk past the Rio cinema in Dalston - one of London's independent cinemas. I've never seen a film there, but now that I know where it is, maybe I will...
