I had a problem: I’ve got too many books in my house and it’s going to make moving difficult. I had a solution: Sell them on eBay!
Most of the books I want to get rid of are junky thrillers (which I’ll most likely never read again), so I thought it might be easier to sell some of them as a job lot. So, quarter of an hour later, I listed my Ian Rankin books for sale.
So far though, there have been no bids. Still, it’s early days I guess. Perhaps books just aren’t a good thing to auction. If they don’t sell, they’re going down to a charity shop.

Try selling them to a second hand bookshop first. I was surprised to get £10 for some a couple of weeks ago. It’s not much but it might buy the odd bottle of wine :-) I like Rebus too but I came to the conclusion it was the atmosphere and the descriptions of Edinburgh that I really enjoyed. The plots were a bit of a distraction.
