Ivor Cutler sighting

Ivor Cutler, the Glaswegian poet who made fame in the past as a regular on John Peel's shows, popped into the bookshop I worked in yesterday. He's come several times over the past few years, mostly just to say hello and to see if there are any of his books he can sign for us (we keep some of his little books, like Scots Wa' Straw, on the counter).

He's sadly looking more and more frail though, and seems to have lost his voice, talking in a whisper. On previous occassions when he's come in, I've spent half an hour chatting to him, with Ivor trying to impart his 'worldly knowledge' onto me. He's an odd guy - but he's funny, in an odd way. He said he liked writing the little books so that people could keep them in their pockets and read them whilst crossing the road...
