Installing Tiger

Well my Tiger arrived in its cage yesterday, so I spent the whole day installing it in my computer. It took ages, on account of a tail of problems, but I've finally got it growling. Here are my thoughts.

Spotlight is great! Whenever a corner of the screen goes all dark, I can just turn on the spotlight, point it in the right direction, and it all lights up. How did I live without this?

The new Dashboard is just great. Everything I need, right at my finger tips. I can adjust the fan speed, tune the radio, alter the climate control. There's even a cupholder. Brilliant!

iChatAV is a great new program that lets you video conference with your entire extended family, all at the same time! I had a fun chat with Aunti Norri, but it did remind me how ugly most of my uncles are.

The new version of Mail is great. It even has a funky little animation visualising all your e-mails as coming through a letterbox. Fun! Although when I forgot to check my mail for a couple of hours it did get stuck trying to jam 400 junk letters through the letterbox at the same time.

Finally, Automator is like a robot thing that does all the boring tasks that you can't be bothered to do. Like the washing up and making tea! Haha, it can't really do that kind of stuff. What it actually does is go through my huge collection of digital photos and deletes all the ones with my ex-girlfriends in them and then sends them abusive e-mails on their birthdays.

There were tons of other widgets that came with it. I fried them with butter and ate them on toast. Yum!

(Note: This isn't really true, I just made it up. I don't even know what a Tiger is...)
