Receiving entries for the Student Radio Awards
Over the last fortnight, I’ve been really busy with receiving all the entries for the Student Radio Awards, which are a pretty big deal within student radio.
So, I was receiving tons of packages like these, often being woken up by the postman, having to sign sheets worth of special deliveries.
What took me most by suprise was that, despite the deadline having been publicised months in advance, nearly all the entries arrived in the last few days. Take a look at this graph, it shows one hell of a spike:

On the day of the deadline, I spent all day opening the packets and, with the help of a co-opted flatmate, entering them into a big spreadsheet. The total figure is just under 400 entries, which is probably a record.

Haven’t you met a student?
Believe me, a LOT more work went into my entry than EVER went into anything I did for uni coursework. Or exams for that matter. My entries were completed a week before the deadline, my exam revision was always done on the day of the actual exam…. (damn, should have put that on my written entry)
Yeah, but Frankie wasn’t a normal student (haha)….
