My First Chart on Last.fm
Have rediscovered last.fm over the past week, and it's fab. I paid up for a few months of the £1.50 monthly subscription straight away, and have been enjoying the continuous stream of music I mostly like ever since.
Today my first real personalised music chart was published, and made for some interesting findings - see my journal entry on last.fm.
The site is certainly very impressive all in all, and I'm much more ready to be convinced now that this could be the future of music radio. This isn't to say that it will kill radio - there's a whole lot more to radio than just the music, personalities and speech content is also hugely important - but for people who just want to hear continuous music in the background, with a mix of songs they know and like and a handful of new tracks, then this could be more valuable than commercial music radio.
Now they just have to figure out how you can listen to your personalised radio away from your computer... A dedicated last.fm physical radio with love/skip/block buttons and a wireless internet connection?
