A bit late to report this news, but last week it was announced that the Science Museum has agreed a four year sponsorship deal with Nintendo. The deal will affect the new Launch Pad gallery, a new exhibition on 'the history and culture of video games' called Game On, and fund some Dana Centre events - Nintendo press release.
The deal is apparently worth £1 million pounds, which sounds pretty good to me. Not quite as much as the £2 million pound sponsorship deal that's just been agreed with Shell though, who are also helping to fund the Launch Pad redevelopment - Shell press release.
Mind you, Shell have today announced record profits (of £13.12bn), so I guess they can afford it. (I particularly like that box on the BBC news page which allows you to calculate how many years it'd take you to earn that much).
