This is a bit of a cross-post, but it’s something I’m excited about, so I hope you’ll forgive me. Over at Rattle, where I work, I’ve introduced a new scheme called ‘Design Mondays’. The idea is that every other Monday the whole office works on a design challenge that’s a little outside of our regular day to day work (social innovation for the web).
We kicked off this Monday by looking at central heating systems, which is something I’ve been thinking about for a little while. We spent the whole day thinking about the problems (of which there are more than you’d think) and sketching proposed solutions. I’ve tried to summarise the whole process in this four minute video below:

Ha, that’s interesting. Especially as where I used to work, the Science Museum, is in the same corporate group as the National Media Museum in Bradford, which seems to have scored a G (the lowest score) in the assessment. I’ll have to ask one of my ex-colleagues to comment.
Whilst I was working at the museum, the director cited the rising fuel bills as one of the reasons why they couldn’t afford a bigger staff pay rise…
